Reworked: Damage Through Layers of Armor
Penetrating Each Layer Weakens Bullet
In the latest patch for Escape from Tarkov, the developers have addressed a key aspect of gameplay: damage penetration through armor. Previously, bullets would retain their full damage potential even after passing through multiple layers of armor, making heavily armored opponents nearly impenetrable. With the 01410 patch, this mechanic has been reworked to provide a more realistic representation of bullet behavior. Now, when a bullet penetrates a layer of armor, it loses a portion of its damage potential. This means that bullets will become less effective as they pass through successive layers of armor, making it more difficult to deal significant damage to heavily armored targets. This change encourages players to prioritize target selection and shot placement, as well as utilizing armor-piercing ammunition when engaging armored opponents.
