Cucurella: 'I'm happy at Brighton... but I don't know about the future'
Brighton defender Marc Cucurella has admitted he is unsure about his future at the club, despite winning the Player of the Season awards from fans and his team-mates.
The Spaniard has been linked with a move to Manchester City this summer, and he refused to rule out a switch to the Premier League champions when asked about it after Brighton's final game of the season against West Ham.
"I'm happy at Brighton, but I don't know about the future," Cucurella said. "I have a contract with Brighton and I'm focused on the national team now. "I'm very grateful to Brighton for everything they have given me. I've had a great season here and I've enjoyed playing in the Premier League. "But I'm also ambitious and I want to play at the highest level. So, we'll see what happens in the future." Cucurella's comments are sure to fuel speculation about his future, and it will be interesting to see if he does end up leaving Brighton this summer. The Seagulls have already lost Yves Bissouma to Tottenham this summer, and they will be keen to keep hold of Cucurella, who is one of their most important players.
Cucurella has been a key player for Brighton this season, and he has helped them to finish ninth in the Premier League. He has also been a regular for Spain, and he played in their recent Nations League win over Germany.
The 24-year-old is a versatile player who can play at left-back, centre-back, or in midfield. He is a good passer of the ball, and he is also a strong tackler. Cucurella would be a valuable addition to any team, and it will be interesting to see where he ends up playing next season.
